I’m reading posts on Facebook about how the Great Gatsby “sucked” because none of the “character’s personalities went in depth.” Someone please correct me if I’m wrong (like, I mean that. Please tell me), but isn’t that the point? The characters in the novel are products of the era? So they’re shallow, superficial, and have no depth whatsoever?
